God's Passion...

My mom has been talking about this song for a while now. I finally listened to it. LOVE IT!!!

CHURCH - what are we doing? Christ doesn't hang out at Starbucks - He loves on those who could never afford it.  Christ doesn't shy away from the "scary" areas, HE MINISTERS THERE! The Lord doesn't make excuses for ignoring people how are poor, a different color, or struggling, HE LOVES UNCONDITIONALLY!

If I have learned anything in the past week it has been that I serve a God who deeply loves and cares for the oppressed, poor, orphaned, widowed, and unloved. He desires for our hearts to look like His - to love without abandon. To serve without limits or excuses. To minister when it's uncomfortable! Oh how I long for my heart to look like His!!!

7 But the Lord reigns forever,
      executing judgment from his throne.
8 He will judge the world with justice
and rule the nations with fairness.
9 The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.
18 But the needy will not be ignored forever;
the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed.

Psalms 9:7-10, 18

18 You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed,
so mere people can no longer terrify them.

Psalm 10:18

5 The Lord replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless,
and I have heard the groans of the poor.
Now I will rise up to rescue them,
as they have longed for me to do.”

6 The Lord’s promises are pure,
like silver refined in a furnace,
      purified seven times over.

7 Therefore, Lord, we know you will protect the oppressed,
preserving them forever from this lying generation,

8 even though the wicked strut about,
and evil is praised throughout the land.

Psalm 12:5-8

I have begun reading 5 Psalms a day and this is what is revealed over and over! The God is a God of justice. A God of love. A Father to all.  Are you a follower after His heart or are we all following the Jesus of our culture???
